SYRATHON 2013!  Fleet Feet Syracuse and Saucony, once again join the Parks Department to bring together the following established road races, based in the City of Syracuse, into this unique series. Syrathon races showcase Syracuse's terrific Parks system...true gems embedded in a host of vibrant, diverse city neighborhoods.  Whether you are just beginning, or are a seasoned runner, the Series is designed to encourage healthful physical activity year-round, while promoting the sights and sounds of city life!

Syrathon is made possible by the support of its sponsors, and, of course, because of the tremendous efforts of the individual race committees.  Each of the Series races are well-established because of the hard work and creative, thoughtful planning of individual race committee.  Each race has its own flavor, and the dedication of all race volunteers brings great benefit to respective city neighborhoods and to so many charitable causes.

The Challenge

Become a Syrathoner... Run your own personal marathon by accumulating 26.2 miles over the course of the series. Select enough races to meet your goal, all while benefitting local neighborhood associations and great charitable causes. Then claim your race shirt and a well-earned medal!

Or an ULTRASyrathoner... Take on the "long course" for all 8 races, and you will have logged 42.5 miles and claimed UltraSyrathoner status! UltraSyrathoners will earn special recognition and a chance at a great prize pack furnished by Fleet Feet, Syracuse New Times, and Syracuse Parks and Recreation!

Or a Business Syrathoner: NEW in 2013. This year we are taking Syrathon to work! Introducing a new leg of the series...teh Business Team Challenge. Get your workplace behind your running habit and start building your team! When signing up for Syrathon, check "Business Syrathoner" and list the name of your workplace. We will track mileage of all who sign up from your workplace. At the end of the series, we will add up total team miles and divide by the number of runners on your team. The workplace that has the best average miles per runner will be crowned Business Syrathon Champion and will win a training event with Fleet Feet Sports Coach Fred Joslyn, along with lunch at your workplace...on Fleet Feet!

Remember…this Series challenge is “participation-based”…which means there are no times to keep track of; no placements to worry about.  Just get out there, take it at your own pace, and have fun!
