NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST SHONTELLE HEADLINES

Family Friendzy, presented by the City of Syracuse Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs, 93Q and McDonalds, returns to Clinton Square this summer with an afternoon of fun activities, entertainment on two stages, exhibits and more.

Headlining the Price Chopper Main Stage will be national recording artist Shontelle for a free concert at 3 p.m., and an autograph session immediately following.   Known for her hit “Impossible”, the 23-year-old Bajan singer-songwriter is prepared to take the music world by storm.

Other performers on the Price Chopper Main Stage will include the Stan Colella All-Star Band, the Media Unit, and Puente Flamenco.   There will be a second stage with more interactive audience participation for the youngsters, such as the Silly Family Circus, in which children have the opportunity toplay various roles in the circus, such as the strongman, a magician or a “lion tamer”; Irish sing-alongs with the McCarthy Family; and African drums with percussionist Herb Levens. 

More fun and games too – Bounce ‘N Around will have a bounce house and a 24-foot inflatable slide, face painting by Miss Erna, pony rides with Apple Ponies from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., activities with the Syracuse Police Dept., the Onondaga Historical Association, OCCRA and Say Yes, and a visit from 12 noon to 1 p.m. by the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile! 

Admission is free; there may be nominal charge for some activities.
