Spring 2013 LESSONS (Participants MUST be registered before attending the program. Participants may pre-register for only one session at a time)
Daytime swimming lessons will be offered for thirty minute classes. Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., over an eight-week period at Huntington & Valley Pools. Southwest will hold classes between noon and 1:00 p.m. Class times are assigned upon receipt of registration information. Participants are skill tested at the first class and may be regrouped to a different level and/or time. Classes are taught by Red Cross certified instructors. Class offerings may vary by site or be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met. Residency and age requirements will be strictly enforced; Proof of age and residency are required.

Evening swimming lessons will be offered for thirty minute classes Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays between 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., over an eight-week period at Valley Pool only for Seahorse, Goldfish, Bullfrogs, Blue Whales and Starfish levels, eels offered Wednesday evenings only.

Level Requirements For Lessons
Seahorse: 3-5 years of age.
Goldfish: Minimum of 5 years old; no swimming experience.
Bullfrogs: Minimum 6 years old; able to float on front and back, kick 15 feet on front and back.
Blue Whales: Minimum 7 years old; able to swim 30 feet on front and back
Starfish: Minimum 8 years old, able to swim 45 feet on front & back and perform the elementary backstroke.
Eels: Minimum of 9 years old; able to swim 25 yards front and back crawl; 15 yards elementary backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Classes held with sufficient enrollment at selected sites.
SPECIAL PROGRAMS
LITTLE SWIMMERS: Valley and Huntington Pools only for children 1 - 4 years old. An adult must be in the water with each child. Classes are 30 minutes.

Summer 2013 Daytime Swimming Lessons
Daytime lessons will be offered for thirty minute classes Monday - Friday, between 9 am and 1:00 pm, over a two-week period. Class will be held on July 4th at the outdoor pools only (Indoor Pools will be closed).
Summer Day Session I: June 24 to July 5
Summer Day Session II: July 8 to July 19
Summer Day Session III: July 22 to August 2
Section: Monday - Friday; 1/2 hour times will be between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm based on registration/pool - please read your confirmation to find out your time slot.
Locations: Burnet, Lincoln, Onondaga, Schiller, Thornden and Valley Pools ( Please list your first and second option on the registration form)
Fee: City $10 / Non-City $35 per session

Ages: Placement is based on age AND ability - please review the level requirements below carefully to determine which level is the most appropriate for your child. Partcipants will be tested at the first class and may be moved accordingly resulting in new time slot.

Summer 2013 Evening Swimming Lessons
Evening lessons will be offered for thirty minute classes Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm, over a five week period at Valley Pool for Seahorse, Goldfish, Bullfrogs, Blue Whales and Starfish level only. City $10 / Non-City $35 Monday & Wednesdays: July 1 to July 31, 2013 or Tuesdays & Thursdays: June 27 to August 1, 2013 (No Class on Thursday, July 4, 2013). Complete the registration form.
Level Requirements (1-6)
Seahorse (Level 1): Able to sit on the pool ledge and get into the water without assistance of parents/guardians; 3 to 5 years of age
Goldfish (Level 2): No swimming experience; Minimum of 5 years old
Bullfrogs (Level 3): Able to float unassisted on front and back and kick 15 feet on front and back; Minimum of 6 years old
Blue Whale (Level 4): Able to swim 30 feet front crawl with face in the water and 30 feet backstroke; Minimum of 7 years old
Starfish (Level 5): Able to swim 45 feet front crawl with face in the water and perform the elementary backstroke; Minimum of 8 years old
Eels (Level 6): Able to swim 25 yards front and back crawl, 15 yards elementary backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly; Minimum of 9 years old; Classes are held with sufficient enrollment at selected sites.
Youth Pre-Competitive Swim
Available at Burnet, Onondaga, Schiller and Thornden Pools...This program offers boys and girls the opportunity to swim competitively against other city participants within various age groups from June 24 through August 6, 2013. The program runs Monday - Friday for one hour during the morning swim lessons. Participants may also swim in weekly trials at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays and compete in the Salt City Swim Meet on Wednesday August 7 at Nottingham Pool. Participants must be 15 years or younger and be able to swim 25 yards front & back crawl. City Residents pay $30 and Non-City Residents pay $55.
