A MESSAGE FROM COMMISSIONER MUHAMMAD ABOUT OUR NEWSLETTERS
Greetings:
We are excited to launch the inaugural issue of “Parks Perspectives,” a newsletter aimed at keeping the friends of City Parks informed about our programs. Many of our projects are the result of collaborative efforts with other city departments, not-for-profits, volunteers,park associations, corporations, and foundations, so it is important to us that we report on our progress and acknowledge the contributions that so many in our community have made. The “Tree of Contents,” created by intern Jeff VanLiew, is a take on the Parks Department logo and offers a glimpse of some of the topics covered in this first issue, from updates on building projects to calendars of events. We will begin to run the newsletter on a bimonthly basis. If you have any story ideas, calendar listings, and/or people or groups
we can add to our mailing list, please let us know.
