The Bob Cecile Center, located at 176 W. Seneca Turnpike, is a comfortable setting for small private parties or group meetings. The renovated firehouse offers senior programming during the weekdays, but can be made available in the evenings and on weekends.

There are two floors. The ground floor offers ample seating – with tables and chairs – for about 30-40 people.  Kitchen facilities are available for your use, with a gas stove, counter space, a deep sink, and a refrigerator/freezer unit. This unit is about a household size, not a commercial size. There is no microwave. There are restrooms for both men and women on the first floor as well. Plenty of closet space as you enter the room from the main entrance for coats and boots.

The newly-renovated second floor can be accessed by a well-lit, wide stairway or an elevator. The space measures 30 feet wide and 40 feet long.  There are 10 round tables and plenty of chairs for your use.  There is also a small stage – the perfect setting for perhaps a magic show for your child’s birthday, or special seating for the guest of honor.
There is a small area off the main room to hang outerwear, and a small, unisex lavatory is off the main room as well. Approximately 60 people can fit comfortably in this space.  The kitchen downstairs is available for your use.

Please note the following:

  • The space rents for $40/hour for city-related groups and individuals; $80/hour for non-city residents. A $25 deposit is also required and will be returned if the site is clean upon your departure. The full amount due is required in advance of your event.
  • You can reserve the space and we will keep it on hold for you two weeks from the day you book it.  You must return the application and the rental payment within those two weeks or risk losing the space.   The application is available online.  The application and payment must be mailed in or dropped off to the main office at 412 Spencer St.
  • You must provide your own dishes, cookware, utensils, decorations, tablecloths, etc.
  • If you encounter any problems with the facility during your rental period, please alert the staff person on site as soon as possible. Please do not wait until you are departing. Your failure to alert on-site staff does not entitle you to a refund.
  • Do not leave any dirty dishes or silverware in the facility’s sinks or stovetops.  Any foodstuffs in the refrigerator ARE NOT available; they are part of the lunch program for the seniors attending the center.   Cookware, utensils or dishes already in the kitchen area ARE NOT available.
  • In putting up decorations, NOTHING CAN BE PUT ON THE WALLS OR FROM THE LIGHTING FIXTURES.    You can tie balloons off to the handles on the windows, chairs or as centerpieces.
  • NO SILLY STRING, DEEJAYS, INFLATABLES OR BOUNCE HOUSES are allowed
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed to be sold or consumed.
  • The stereo system on the ground level of the Cecile Center CANNOT be moved upstairs.
  • The piano at the Cecile Center is not available for use.
  • If the fire alarm should sound, you and your guests MUST leave the building immediately, even if you do not see, smell or suspect smoke. The fire department will respond and reset the system.
  • The Center  CANNOT be used for commercial reasons, including but not limited to the selling of products for profit; seminars and/or gatherings and/or parties  where products or services are offered or promoted.
  • Your failure to abide by the regulations noted above may result in the forfeiture of your deposit and/or being asked to leave the premises.
  • The building will be staffed while you are on-site, to troubleshoot any problems that may arise, etc.   Our staff is responsible for emptying trash,  wiping down tables, wiping off counters in the kitchen and mopping up the floors after you leave.
  • The staff person assigned to your event will arrive at the location 15 minutes before the time you note.  The hourly fee includes any time for set-up and/or breakdown.
