  •   2017 University Area End-of-Semester
    Residential Trash Collection Program
Residential properties within the Special Neighborhood District have the opportunity to participate in an optional trash collection program for two (2) weeks following the end of the semester. Due to excess trash generated by student move outs during this time, the City DPW will be offering extra trash pick-ups in the area for a fee.
For $225 per property, DPW will remove excess trash Monday through Thursday, May 15 through 25. Property owners who wish to participate must sign up in advance.
Property owners may hire their own private haulers to remove excess trash if they do not wish to participate in the municipal program. If you do not opt-in to this special program, any and all illegal set-outs (early set-outs, extra large set-outs) will be cited by the Division of Code Enforcement. You will be subject to a fine of $225.00 for each illegal set-out.
All properties are entitled to their regular weekly pick-up, free of extra charge.
Contractors must arrange with a private hauler for the proper and legal disposal of debris generated during construction. The City will not pick up debris or yard waste generated by a contractor.
