HOP OVER TO BURNET PARK FOR AN  “EGGS-TREMELY” GOOD TIME

2009 Golden Egg Winner - Javier Rodriguez

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny welcomes children and their families to Burnet Park, on the city’s west side, for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, presented by the City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs, on Saturday, April 3, 2010 beginning at 10 a.m. The Hunt is open to children up to the age of 10.    The event is free.

Youngsters, from 2 to 4 years of age, will begin the hunt at 10 a.m.   Those, 5 to 7 years old, will begin at approximately 10:15 a.m., and children from 8 to 10 years old, will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The children and their parents can gather inside the warming room at Burnet Park, and they will be escorted to the hunt area by the Easter Bunny.  They will be admitted in groups of 20, and each group will be given 2 minutes to gather as many of the eggs as their baskets can hold.  Children should bring their own baskets or bags for their eggs.

After the two minutes are done, the children can redeem their eggs for candy and/or prizes, depending on the number of eggs they gather.

Not to be confused with the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park, those attending the Easter Egg Hunt should use the Avery Avenue or Coleridge Avenue entrance to the park.
