    Welcome to Syracuse Parks, Recreation and Youth Program’s Virtual Recreation Center!   

    While we may not be able to spend time  together with you in physical buildings or neighborhood parks during this difficult time, our hope is that we can stay connected virtually.  The links below can quickly connect you to great resources and programs from a variety of sources, including the Syracuse Parks Department, other local agencies, and beyond!  Check back often, as new activities may be added during the summer.

    Nutrition

    • Syracuse City School District Breakfast and Lunch Program CLICK HERE   

    • Kids Cafe "To Go"Afternoon Meals: Nutritious and delicious meals provided by the Food Bank of CNY will be available for youth 18 yrs and younger, at the following Recreation Centers. Meals are pre-packaged and refrigerated, and ready to heat up at home!  Begins Tuesday October 13th!  Please wear a face covering.  A responsible adult must be present to register children for the meal program.  Staff will ask for name of child receiving meal, age, address, and the name/phone number of responsible adult. 
      Program begins Tuesday OCTOBER 13th.  ***Please note: There will be no Kids Cafe on the following days:  Election Day (Tuesday November 3 - no meals at Kirk park only);   Veterans Day (Wednesday November 11); Thanksgiving (November 26 and 27); Christmas (December 24 and 25).
      • Westmoreland Community Center:  Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 4:00pm
      • Kirk Park (Seals Community Center): Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 5:30pm 
      • Schiller Park (Bova Community Center): Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 5::30pm

       

     Recreation Programs For Youth with Syracuse Parks and Recreation, or made possible by our partners. Register today! 

    • Mobile Rec To Go! Mobile Recreation returns this Fall with many of the same cool activities that you loved over the Summer, plus some new twists!  During the school year, Mobile Rec staff will visit 4 City Community Centers on a weekly basis, with a new activity each week... so register online and visit as often as you can!  Registration and supplies are limited each week.

    • Syracuse Teen Leadership Program with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H :  Virtual Youth Learning Opportunity! Are you interested in learning leadership skills to help your community? Join the Syracuse Youth Leadership Training program by 4H. This workshop is 7 weeks long and will be meeting ONLINE. If you are age 11-18, a resident of the City of Syracuse, and interested in finding out how you already have the power to lead, sign up right now!  By completing the program, you will receive a youth leadership training certificate.

    • *Virtual* Family Health Walk and Talks with SUNY Upstate Pediatrics. FREE!  Now virtual, this family health and community empowerment program will continue to bring together families with local pediatricians for physical activity, important health information, and free access to local farm-fresh produce!  Traditionally, we would meet and walk in a local park.  Due to COVID, our “talks” will now be virtual, with 1-hour weekly summer webinars that may include guided exercise, Q&A regarding health care questions, and ongoing community needs assessments.  Parents are encouraged to walk with family on their own, and send weekly walking logs. Great incentives along the way.  Join today! 
      Dates: August 11 - October 13
      When: Tuesdays, 6pm: Virtual Zoom  with Pediatricians and Parks staff
      Daily: Walk together with household family members and complete a weekly log (provided)

    • Monday Mile Passport Challenge   Did you know there are more than a dozen accessible Monday Mile Walking Routes posted in parks and neighborhoods throughout the city?  And even more throughout the County! This challenge encourages household members to explore the City together, while getting great physical activity, one mile at a time.  Access the Monday Mile Passport HERE and start your “journey” today.  Complete 13 miles and earn great prizes!   Please observe all health and safety related guidelines and observe social distancing.  Monday Mile and Healthy Mondays are programs of the Lerner Center of Public Health at Syracuse University!

    •       Fitness Workouts - On Demand!  Check out our library of Fitness and Wellness classes led by one of your favorite Parks instructors on location in one of our beautiful parks. Try a circuit workout, yoga, zumba, dance, and more!  Follow along with the workout wherever you are. Brought to you by the Syracuse Parks Conservancy.
