SYRATHON 2012! DETAILS TO COME! The City’s Department of Parks and Recreation, with Fleet Feet Sports, The Syracuse New Times, and Saucony Sports, are proud to offer this unique series of road races through our city’s parks system, and along charming city streets. The Series is designed to encourage healthful physical activity year-round…all while promoting the sights and sounds of city life!
Syrathon is made possible by the support of its generous sponsors, and, of course, the tremendous efforts of the individual race committees. Each of Series races are well-established because of the hard work and creative, thoughtful planning of individual race committee. Each race has it’s own flavor, and the dedication of all race volunteers brings great benefit to respective city neighborhoods and to so many charitable causes.

Remember…this Series challenge is “participation-based”…which means there are no times to keep track of; no placements to worry about. Just get out there, take it at your own pace, and have fun!

Tipperary Hill Shamrock Run...Syrathon again kicks off with the Shamrock Run…and takes runners through Burnet Park and past historic neighborhood pubs and landmarks, including the famous “green-on-top” traffic light. Music from local bands provide motivation all along the route! Celebrating its 5th Running!

Dunn Tire Mountain Goat Run…33rd running of the Goat will again bring you on an exhilarating tour of the city, tackling 2 of Syracuse’s highest peaks along the way and concluding with a tremendous party in Clinton Square. MG Race Expo is now held at the new Fleet Feet location on Bridge Street!

Inner Harbor 5k…Syrathons’s newest addition, this late summer run launches from the beautiful Inner Harbor and visits Leavenworth Park and the Creekwalk. Proceeds benefit the Inner Wealth Initiative, a collaborative & grassroots movement intended to enhance the mental health and wellness of children and families throughout our communities.

Race Day Prize Drawings….will be awarded to winners of a random prize drawing. Be sure to visit the SYRATHON/Fleet Feet tent before each race to register for the FREE drawing!
Commemorative Medals…awarded to all Syrathoners – those covering at least 26.2 miles over the course of the challenge.
The Procedures (details to come)

Sign up for each race…Participation in the prize drawings and Race Series challenge is free, HOWEVER, you must register for each race individually, and pay the requisite race fees, according to procedures listed on each race registration form! Eligibility for prizes will be determined via participant lists provided by the race directors or timing companies.

Visit the Syrathon 2012 Fleet Feet booth on race day… Fill out a short information card/raffle ticket to be entered into that day’s raffle, as well as into the Grand Prize raffle. Be sure to visit the booth before each series race for the greatest chance of winning.
