    From the North: Interstate 81 southbound to the exit for S State St towards S Salina St/Brighton Ave, exit 17.  Merge onto McClure Ave (.2 mi).  Turn left onto S Salina St (.1 mi).  Turn right onto W Seneca Turnpike (1.5 mi).  Meachem Field/Valley Pool will be on the left (.1 mi).
    From the South:  Interstate 81 northbound to the exit for Nedrow, exit 16. Turn left onto S Salina St/US-11 N.  Turn left onto W Seneca Turnpike (3.2 mi).  Meachem Field/Valley Pool will be on the left (.1 mi).
    From the West: Interstate 690 eastbound to I-81 S.  Proceed south on I-81 to the exit for S State St towards S Salina St/Brighton Ave, exit 17.  Merge onto McClure Ave (.2 mi).  Turn left onto S Salina St (.1 mi).  Turn right onto W Seneca Turnpike (1.5 mi).  Meachem Field/Valley Pool will be on the left (.1 mi).
    From the East: Interstate 481 southbound to the exit for E Brighton Ave.  Turn left onto E Brighton Ave (.4 mi).  Take 1st right onto E Seneca Turnpike (.5 mi).  Continue straight onto W Seneca Turnpike (.7 mi).  Meachem Field/Valley Pool will be on the left (.1 mi).

FEATURES:

  • Swimming Pool
    Valley Pool is located at Meachem Field on Amidon Drive. It is a 25 yards long, six lanes heated (84-86 degrees) indoor pool with a shallow end wheelchair disabled access tier and stairs and a capacity of 126 bathers. The water goes from 3 feet 6 inches deep to 11 feet deep and there is a 3 feet 6 inches minimum height requirement for children.
  • Athletic Fields and Courts
    Meachem Field has 2 lighted softball diamond and 1 lighted baseball diamond. There is 1 multi-purpose athletic turf field (for football, soccer, and lacrosse) with bleachers and a press box. Meachem Field has 3 lighted tennis courts.
  • Playground
    Playground consisting of swings, slides, seesaws, and climbing bars.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION:

Meachem Field was once owned by Sabine Meachem and was used by the Onondaga Valley Academy and other local ball teams. Mrs. Meachem allowed use of the field by the Department of Parks and in 1946, the City acquired it.
