    SALT Block Party 8-19-10

    SALT District Neighborhood Block Party on August 19, 2010 in Skiddy Park

    The Near Westside Initiative (NWSI) hosted a community celebration for residents, employees and other supporters of its famed SALT District. This day-long event featured children’s educational and recreational activities, music and free food and beverages. The event welcomed ProLiteracy, the world’s largest nonprofit organization of adult literacy and basic education programs, to the community. ProLiteracy plans to relocate to the NWSI Case Supply building, bringing more than 60 Syracuse-based employees to the SALT District.

    Approximately 1800 Say Yes to Education summer camp students demonstrated new skills they learned, talents they developed and creativity they unleashed throughout their 2010 "Say Yes" summer camp experiences at the Say Yes Summer Festival on Wednesday, July 28th at Thornden Park.
