    St. Patrick's Weekend Kick-off
    The 28th Annual St. Patrick's weekend began Friday, March 12th with the painting of the green stripe on South Salina Street near Water Street and the City's annual Irish Heritage ceremony featuring music and dance in the Sustainability Showcase at City Hall Commons Atrium.

    Every year this section of Salina Street is renamed in honor of the Parade's founder, who died in 2006.

    The Syracuse Kiltie Pipe Band lead the parade under the famous Green-Over-Red traffic signal at Tompkins St. and Milton Ave.,
    heralding the annual delivery of green beer to Coleman's Pub on Tipperary Hill.
    Mayor Stephanie Miner was Grand Marshal, walking with Staff Sgt. Chris Egan from the 3rd Brigade of the 10th Mountain Division, and Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub owner Peter Coleman.

    The 8,500-gallon tanker is said to carry green beer from Dublin.
